Are you coming to Camden during Mother’s Day Weekend? Here are some fun ideas on how to spend Mother’s Day. As a mom, any of these would be fun for me (hint, hint family)!

Savage Oaks Wine and Chocolate Extravaganza: Savage Oaks is a wonderful real Maine winery and distillery. The Winery is not far from the downtown of Camden, approximately a  30 minute drive. This year Savage Oakes is hosting Safe Harbor Confections with their gourmet chocolates and Stone Fox Farm Creamery with their homestead ice cream. In addition, Savage Oakes has teamed up with Union Agway and 7 Tree Farm and Greenhouse to give Mom a free plant with her visit. A family-owned and -operated store, Union Agway has been meeting area farmers’ and home owners’ needs since 1933. Another family-owned and operated business, 7 Tree Farm and Greenhouse is run by the 8th and 9th generation of founder Moses Hawes.

Cellardoor Wine and Bixby Bar Tasting – Cellardoor Winery is a lovely 5 minute drive from the Camden Windward House Bed and Breakfast. Wake up, enjoy a healthy breakfast and meander up the road to the winery to enjoy wine and chocolate.

Mother’s Day Plant Sale at Avena Botanicals – Not just any plant sale, this is a peaceful trip in a garden. If mom enjoys gardening, a trip to Avena is a must. Avena is a short 15 minute drive from downtown Camden.

Some of my favorite restaurants in downtown Camden will be open so make sure you have a reservation. I recommend Fresh, Atlantica Seafood Bistro and Long Grain. If you really want to treat mom, PRIMO is reopening May 9, just in time for Mother’s Day. You will definitely need a reservation. Primo is located in Owls Head, a 20 minute drive from downtown Camden.

Just remember the days with mom are precious!
